Carpool Karaoke: The Series — Will Smith And James Corden — Apple Music

For the premiere of “Carpool Karaoke: The Series,” Will Smith joined James Corden for a ride belting classics like “Gettin’ Jiggy With It” and “Boom! Shake the Room.”

The first six minutes of the show that will exclusively stream on Apple Music were made available ahead of the premiere, and it shows Smith and Corden signing hits along with a marching band or harmonizing to “I Believe I Can Fly” in a helicopter flying over Los Angeles.

During the drive, Smith recalled how his first record was released when he was 16 — so while he was still in high school — and revealed that he’s been approached to play Barack Obama in a feature film. He also says he spoke to the former president about it, who told him he was confident he could do it because Smith “had the ears” for it.

Corden and Smith then reenacted some scenes with Smith’s famous catchphrase, “Oh hell no!”

The rest of the video previews Smith and Corden crashing a wedding, as well as other guests that will appear on “Carpool Karaoke” throughout the season. They include Alicia Keys, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ariana Grande, Seth MacFarlane (and a plant), Billy Eichner, LeBron James, Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus.

The “Carpool Karaoke” series, which was announced last summer and is based on the popular segment from Corden’s CBS show, will consist of 16 episodes. In each episode, celebrities will ride along and sing along with the host as they visit places meaningful to the celebrity, sing tunes from their personal playlists and surprise fans.

Each week, a new episode will become available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers in more than 100 countries. Corden won’t always appear as the driver, and the program won’t always take place in a car.

The series premieres Wednesday night.
